Instrumentation

We use a mixture of ultrahigh vacuum, electrochemical and near ambient pressure techniques in order to investigate the materials and processes of interest to our group. Some techniques we use on a daily basis are:

  • X-ray and Ultraviolet Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS/UPS)
  • Temperature Programmed Desorption (TPD)
  • Reflection Absorption Infrared Spectroscopy (RAIRS)
  • Auger Electron Spectroscopy (AES)
  • Low Energy Electron Diffraction (LEED)
  • Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM) and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM)
